Viktor Černický’s simple choreographic games work like prompts: in the labyrinth you’ll wander, pass each other, meet, get lost and find your way again, in situations that simply emerge – training your relational intelligence along the way: how to open up to contact with yourself, with others, and with what we call reality. It’s also a chance to experience the creative process first-hand! Anyone who wants to can become part of the performance from 17:00.
The workshop is led by choreographer Viktor Černický, who premieres his performance Claude that same evening in the same labyrinth, created in dialogue with sculptor Tomáš Roubal as part of the triptych Dance in the Gallery: Labyrinth (SE.S.TA & GHMP). The sculpture holds the trace of gruelling, repetitive sculptural work – dozens of hours of gestures that Roubal imprinted into it like a human 3D printer; Černický’s dance is its echo, a second voice, a „double body“ in the same space. In the workshop you’ll try this for yourself: how to answer a sculpture – and someone else’s labour stored inside it – with your own movement.
In September, the project Dance in the Gallery: Labyrinth reaches its culmination in the gardens of Troja Chateau, connecting movement and visual art in a historic setting, co-produced by the Centre for Choreographic Development SE.S.TA & the Prague City Gallery (Umění pro město programme). After separate showings during the summer Rivieras, the three site-specific works will first join into a diptych on 19 September and then into a triptych on 28 September, as part of the Poznej Vltavu festival.

DANCE IN THE GALLERY: LABYRINTH
In creative dialogue between a collective of choreographers, visual artists and curators, site-specific performances emerge as new artistic works that "activate" the sculptural installations on the grounds of Troja Chateau. The choreographers also represent different areas of movement art – physical theatre (Viktor Černický), contemporary dance (Hana Polanská) and street/break dance (Kristián Mensa). What can such cross-disciplinary collaboration bring that's new
