Soňa Kúdeľová
Soňa Kúdeľová is a Slovak choreographer, dancer, performer, teacher and cultural manager working in the Slovak contemporary dance scene. Her practice draws on everyday performativity and has long examined body and mind through the themes of socio-psychological adaptation, interpersonal relationships and society. She builds collective collaborations with visual, musical and intermedia artists, testing the limits of artistic expression in shared time and space. She is the author of the solo trilogy Autopilot (2018), Autocorrect (2019) and Autonomy (2021), and of the collective research project Sound of Silence (2019–2020, 2023). Her most recent work is the trio Intensive tense, premiered in December 2024, in which she combined the roles of choreographer and performer and whose research addressed ADHD and anxiety as widespread phenomena of the present day. In January 2025 she completed the GPS / Global Practice Sharing residency in New York, awarded by Movement Research, performing at Judson Memorial Church. She sits on the board of PLAST – the Slovak platform for contemporary dance, and coordinates the TELOCVIČŇA residency centre. With the multimedia artist and musician Boris Vitázek she founded the association CHAOSMOS, which makes work engaging with social, political and environmental questions.
