Tobias M. Draeger

Tobias M. Draeger studied Film and Physical Theatre Studies and Contemporary Dance at the Vienna Conservatory and the SEAD (Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance), completed a Master of Performing Arts at the Icelandic Academy of Arts in Reykjavik and trained in osteopathy at the IAO Ghent. His artistic career has been characterised by close international collaborations with Quan Bui Qnoc/Les Ballets C de la B, Kopergieterey/Kabinet K. and the Dutch osteopath Erik Horsten. Tobias M. Draeger's way of working is characterised by his unconventional view of artistic concepts and choreographic structures in combination with his osteopathic knowledge of the body. Choreographic collaborations with, among others: Quan Bui Qnoc/Les Ballets C de la B (BE/VIE), Markus Schleinzer (AT), Cornelia Luthi (CH), Helena Waldmann (DE), Kristel van Issum/T.R.A.S.H Company (NL) Philippe Reira/Superamas (FR/BE), ifhuman CIE (BE), Mia Lawrence (US). International workshops and guest teacher at the Film Academy Vienna, Latvian Academy of Culture, performance lab by Mia Lawrence (Munich), Icelandic Dance Company, among others. With his company draeger u.Co, he has been developing his own choreographic works since 2012, in which dance, theatre, osteopathy and object manipulation intertwine. He also works internationally as an outside eye and physical coach for various companies and artists.
