Rope Research
Viktor Černický (SE.S.TA Associated Artist) and Valentin Verdure are coming to the Vysočina Cultural and Creative Centre and its Hub 800 programme for a summer residency from 12. to 21. 8. The residency includes a workshop for the general public.
In his new artistic work, Viktor Černický builds on his earlier practice exploring the dialogue between the human body and inanimate objects. From rigid rods and chairs, through the folds of tyres, he now turns to a material that resists attempts at stability: rope.
“Did we say rope? We mean all the knots, with their own terminology and unique properties: letting go, untying, or tightening instead…”
Viktor Černický and Valentin Verdure’s workshop offers a playful perspective on movement, objects and the space around us. Together with participants, they will explore how ordinary objects can create extraordinary situations and choreographies. All that is needed is curiosity, a willingness to try new things and a love of movement.
Who is it for
The workshop is open to everyone aged 13+, regardless of previous experience.
