Get Teaching Moving Through Art!

Do you want your teaching to be lively and meaningful, and your pupils to discover the world through their own experience? In autumn 2026 we are holding another cycle of practical workshops in which you will learn how to bring creative movement into ordinary school subjects in a natural way.

What will the workshops give you?

• Experiential learning: We’ll show you how to creatively liven up maths, language and science lessons.
• A better classroom atmosphere: Movement activities have been shown to strengthen cooperation, respect and healthy relationships between children.
• New space for self-expression: You’ll gain inspiration on how to approach dance and movement education in an innovative way and support children’s creativity.

A CYCLE OF WORKSHOPS: Theory straight into practice 

Between the individual blocks you’ll have time to try out what you’ve learned directly in your teaching. At the following meetings we then discuss your newly gained insights together, so that you feel completely confident in the new approaches. What does the programme include?

• Sharing experience: Analysis of real situations from your own lessons.
• Guided reflection: Plenty of time for your specific questions and suggestions.
• Methodological ideas: Practical tips on how to reflect on the creative process effectively, directly with the children.

Inspiration from the tutors of the Škola tančí project

You’ll meet the team of artist-tutors from the Škola tančí project. They won’t only give you a glimpse behind the scenes of their creative approaches — they’ll discover new paths together with you. What will the tutors teach you?

• Concrete ideas for your teaching: You’ll get movement games and activities you can use straight away in your lessons.
• Artistic thinking in practice: The tutors will pass on the basics of creative thinking, thanks to which you’ll be able to design further movement lessons entirely on your own.

What will we explore?

• What is artistic thinking and why it has a place in education
• How to use space, time and movement at school
• Ideas a teacher can use in their work with pupils
• Ideas a teacher can use for themselves, so that they can work with pupils (in other words: don’t forget about yourself!)
• Examples of movement tasks for different school subjects
• How to build your own movement lesson
• Reflection as a path to understanding what I (we) do
• Methodological approaches to creative teaching through movement

Who is it for

The educational cycle is intended primarily for primary-school teachers, but also for anyone else who wants to bring new creative approaches into their work with children. No previous experience with movement or dance is needed — all you need is the willingness to try new things.

Dates and times

Block I: Sat 19 Sept / Prague (Cirqueon) Block II: Sat–Sun 17–18 Oct / Žďár nad Sázavou (the new Vysočina Creative and Cultural Centre at the château) Block III:  Sat 21 Nov / Prague (Cirqueon) Time: 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Total time allocation: 32 teaching hours. The teaching blocks build on one another indirectly; the time between them is meant for testing what you’ve learned in practice, and each follow-up workshop always leaves room for sharing experience, asking questions and consolidating your own pedagogical and creative approaches.

ABOUT ŠKOLA TANČÍ…

Škola tančí is one of the approaches to creative learning through art, based on interdisciplinary cooperation between artists and teachers who together prepare a tailor-made programme for the children, during which the children learn the school curriculum better through creative dance and movement and get to know themselves and their friends better. The artists, who act as guides through the creative process, share with the children the joy of discovering together and support them in developing their creativity and their own uniqueness. Learning becomes play, and children experience new knowledge quite literally first-hand. The principles of creative teaching through movement, which we use in Škola tančí, we want to share with teachers too, so they can develop them further in their own teaching practice.

Are you wondering how to approach the revised RVP and how to handle the Art and Culture educational area in your school?  The educational cycle also responds to the new RVP revisions — specifically to innovative teaching methods and the support of key competences in both pupils and teachers (cultural, communication, personal and social competences, as well as learning-to-learn competences).
